Promovendo seu single, "Homemade Dynamite", Lorde visitou nesta quarta-feira (25/07) a rádio WHTZ, em NY, para participar do programa de Elvis Duran. Confira a entrevista:
Elvis: Olá, Lorde! Estamos muito felizes em lhe ter aqui.
Lorde: O sentimento é recíproco. (risos)
Elvis: Então, eu vi no último domingo, na Times Square, um caminhão tocando e divulgando seu single. A música é ótima e chamava a atenção de todos que eu vi ouvirem.
Lorde: Fico muito grata. A boa recepção do público me faz muito bem.
Elvis: Seria o marketing a marca principal dessa sua nova era?
Lorde: Acho que a minha marca nessa nova fase serão as músicas mais sentimentalistas e pessoais, e todo o conceito que elas carregam. Mas eu espero que toda essa divulgação que estamos fazendo também nos traga um impacto muito positivo.
Elvis: E quanto às críticas negativas?
Lorde: Acho que são comuns, todos recebem, não dá para agradar a todos. O que me resta a fazer é fazer o que gosto e o que acho que a maioria dos meus fãs irão gostar.
Elvis: Você acha importante agradar seus seguidores?
Lorde: Acho que essas pessoas merecem escutar a melhor música possível, já que me querem tão bem e seguem meu trabalho com tanta fidelidade.
Elvis: Você sempre se definiu como uma "estranha no ninho" do mundo POP. Isso continua a fazer parte de sua personalidade artística?
Lorde: Acredito que sim, sou bem estranha tanto no palco quanto nas músicas. Minha voz, meus passos, meus ritmos são bem peculiares.
Elvis: Então, ouvintes, estou adorando conversar com a maravilhosa Lorde, mas temos que ir para os comerciais. Já voltamos!

Elvis: Estamos de volta e eu já quero voltar fazendo perguntas. Ok, Lorde?
Lorde: Claro, será um prazer respondê-lo.
Elvis: Sobre o futuro da música: para você, é promissor?
Lorde: Eu acho que nossa geração não possui tantas lendas como as gerações passadas. Nós temos, sim, Beyoncé, Adele... mas não são muitos os artistas como elas na atualidade. Acho que o que está acontecendo é que o POP e o rock estão em queda. Agora é a vez do hip-hop, do EDM, mas, daqui a alguns anos, outros ritmos estarão em seu auge; é uma questão de ciclos. Porém, no geral, acho que sim, temos grandes artistas surgindo e outros evoluindo cada vez mais. O mercado está sempre se renovando e novos ícones estão nascendo.
Elvis: Falou muito bem, mas me diga: você acha que, futuramente, será vista como uma lenda?
Lorde: Não me vejo no patamar de Madonna, Prince, David Bowie, mas quero sim ser conhecida como uma artista com músicas boas.
Elvis: Quando pretende voltar aos palcos?
Lorde: Tenho algumas novidades para as próximas semanas.
Elvis: Não pode nos revelar nada?
Lorde: Penso que não, perdão. (risos)
Elvis: Bem, fica pra próxima, então. hahaha Muito obrigado por ter conversado com a gente hoje, você será sempre muito bem-vinda aqui!
Lorde: A conversa foi ótima, pretendo voltar muitas vezes mais.
